Several years ago Keith asked his fans who wanted to acknowledge his birthday that in lieu of gifts to send their support to St Jude. From that an annual Fan Club Fundraiser was born. Each year beginning in September and concluding in October - the Fan Club "partners" with St Jude for a special link on St Jude's website to click and make a donation specifically to honor Keith's birthday. (The donations are made online or via mail directly to St Jude.)

I have approached the moderators here to PIN this topic now - as we have soo many new members to Monkeyville that I wanted to get the word out that we have a annual project in place to recognize Keith's birthday.

Feel free to make donations to St Jude as often as you can throughout the year, but remember we will have special project closer to Keith's birthday to recognize and honor Keith's birthday and his wishes.

At the conclusion of the project Keith is presented a certificate by St Jude acknowledging the fundraiser and the names of those that contributed.

In September a topic will be posted and PINNED that will provide the complete details for this annual fan club project and how you can make your donation directly to St Jude for Keith's birthday.

Dear Fellow Residents of Monkeyville,

We'd like to organize another special fan club based gift to commerate the LOVE, PAIN AND THE WHOLE CRAZY WORLD TOUR. We have come up with an idea - a CRAZY TOUR scrapbook. We are looking for others that would be interested in participating on this project. We are the same group that did the 2005 KU Scrapbook that was presented to Keith’s mom. We also organized the Wedding Card Scrapbook in 2006 presented to the Urban family, and now it’s time for a 2007 project.

It is the mission of this project to collect scrapbook pages that are associated with EACH of the tour stops/cities on the CRAZY TOUR. We’d like to organize the scrapbook CITY BY CITY… so please keep this in mind when you make your page(s) – please scrap ONE concert/CITY PER PAGE. Please feel free to submit as many pages, for as many shows, that you’ll be attending – just remember one city per page.

Please follow these guidelines to ensure your page is properly placed in the scrapbook:

1. Each person is asked to make ONE 12" x 12" page to add to the scrapbook, both sides of the page may be decorated.
2. The mission of this scrapbook is document the CRAZY TOUR from the fans CITY BY CITY – so your page(s) should be limited to ONE CITY per submittal.
3. Any photos included on your page should be YOUR OWN PHOTOS. Do not use copyright pictures or someone else’s pictures on your pages (without their permission). Feel free to include anything on your page that is about that concert, your review, your meet up with other fans, your travel... be creative.
3. Please make sure that the page is flat and that there is nothing sticking up on the sheet. This is necessary to ensure that other pages are protected.
4. IT IS NOT necessary to submit your completed page in a clear page protector. The $1.00 fee requested to participate in this project, PER PAGE or one set of back to back pages, will be used to purchase the page protectors so that they are appropriate binding for the album(s) that we use.
5. It is suggested that you use photo safe (acid free) paper and adhesive products - this will protect your photos and the longevity of the album.
6. Mail your completed 12" x 12" scrapbook page in a flat envelope, preferably that will not bend (the PO Box is large enough to accomodate 12" widths).
7. Include your name, email address and $1.00 with your page (or two back to back pages). The email address will be used only to confirm receipt of your page and a means of communication if there should be any concerns about your scrapbook page (i.e., if you didn't follow the guidelines). The $1.00 fee will cover the cost of the actual scrapbooks, page protectors and putting the final touches on the books themselves. I think it's safe to send the $1.00 in cash (not coins). NO PERSONAL CHECKS. Please send cash, money orders or cashiers checks only! Any money left over will be donated to Max It Out in Keith’s name on behalf of this project.

INTERNATIONAL SUBMITTALS: You are waived the $1.00 fee, in lieu of your additional shipping costs. The international currency transfer for $1.00 is not cost efficient.

This is a PO BOX so standard United States Postal Service restrictions apply. UPS service is not available.

At this time the deadline for this project is December 31, 2007. However, since it is the mission of this project to document the CRAZY TOUR – this deadline may be extended if the tour runs past December 31, 2007. However, PLEASE we ask that you go ahead and work on your pages once you’ve completed a show, so that we can begin to organize the pages throughout the year.

This is a great way for Keith to remember this CRAZY TOUR at this time in his career and life. Once the project is complete, we will post a link to view the submitted pages (like we have done in the past with our other projects).

As pages are recieved, you will recieve an email confirmation and a running list will be maintained on this thread. HAVE A GREAT TIME WITH THIS and THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION!

I am helping Jen (marinagirl) again with these projects and would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. They are both open to all fans of Keith, not just Monkeyville members. Here are the links to the threads on Monkeyville for those of you that haven't seen them yet. We've had wonderful responses in the past on the scrapbooks, there are even links where you can view the pages. We're also hoping to make this year extra special as far as the donation for St. Jude's in Keith's name since it will be his 40th birthday.  

I'll keep you updated here as new things arise with these projects.

Marinagirl and I are getting the loose ends tied up so that we will be able to give info. on Keith's 40th Birthday project that benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Watch for details soon! October 1 is our target date to start, unless there are unforeseen circumstances.

P.S. don't forget that it's not too late to send your scrapbook pages in to be included in the books for this tour. Apparently the tour will go into June 08, so you've got plenty of time!

update:  Keith's Birthday Fundraiser for St. Jude ends on Oct. 31.

The Krazy Scrapbook project is ongoing until the end of this tour.
